Horror Movies&Different types of genre

28 weeks later

This movie is called 28 weeks later. The director of the movie is Danny Boyle, a director well known for his low budget but epic horror movies. Its a British film from the post-apocolyptic horror genre. Post apocolyptic horror movies consist of the typical conventions; Pandemic break outs, Blood, The brave person who survives etc. Its a sub genre of science fiction which concerens the survival of the human race. This is an intresting genre becuase while watching it, it makes us wander what if that were to happen to us due to the fact that it is about a pandemic break out and it puts everyone in the same boat, a type of 'theirs no where to run feel'. This Movie is based in London, iconic locations such as warren's streets BT tower, isle of dogs, Big Ben, Tower Bridge all in which I am familiar with on a personal level as I am a Londener and these icons I pass through or see on a daily basis were used in this movie. This movie was succesful towards scaring me beause I live literally 5 minutes away, its a very busy every where with commuters traveling, making their journeys to work and school. To think that area is isolated with no sign of life, atleast not human(zombies), gives me a chill down my spin becuase its just extremely hard to imagine. Also thiers know where to run in that particular area, you have tall buildings all in which hundreds of people work in. Now the out break spread all over london if i were trying to escape and pass by a busy loction such as warren street/Euston I think id be expecting some zombies trying to make their journey to living flesh. The trailer uses cuts to create a quick pase tension in order to keep the audience wanting more and creating suspension between scenes for example in the first 12 seconds of the trailer their are 3 cuts, the first cut is a full shot of londons iconic isle of dogs, a busy place in which office workers work, 2nd scene a birds eye view shot of BT tower(tracking was used) and the 3rd cut was of an airplane landing in an isolated airport that looks like it hasnt been used in quite a while. All scenes however seem to have no sign of life untill the airplane comes landing. After the plane comes landing in the director then introduces more signs of civilization with hundreds of people flooding in. Inbetween the cuts we have words such as "re population" after the airplane has landed and people are approching the escalator,"sterilization" while that woman is being cleaned, and "quarantine" as the isle of dogs is baracaded with security in every corner. These words are simple yet significant towards leaving the audience with a horror chill as they describe the in pact this apocolyptic out break had amongst Britain, an empire known in history as the undeafeatable empire which was eventually beaten by a small but deadly outbreak.

music video analysis

She is in pink, very 1930's style, this makes her look a little cheaky and fun, hence ther name premadonna girl, thinking the world revolves around her. shes wearing a silhouette which shows how she think the world revolves around her. In the first 20 seconds marina is standing next to a huge chandeler which represents wealth (premadonna). in the 45 seconds of the video theyres a body shot we shows the world revolves around her. she looks like a barbie wearing pink shades of makeup and clothing.
shes in different locations, one second shes in a very aristocratic house in the midlands the second shes probably in her living room next to a chandeler. they also use the andy warhol affect in the video which shows some vintage theme.

azelia banks is in the 212, so shes not to over done with her clothing, its all casual shes wearing an micky mouse top, 212 represent manhatten so shes going down to have a good time. extreme close up to her mouth is used in this video. the video is taken in black and white which shows everythings is so simple in life dont tyhibnk twice just go have a ball. she is also saying rude things to a geek maybe showing thats shes perfect even though she not intelligent.

I like this video, end of time by Beyonce, becuase it was acctually one of her giggs she preformed this song at andf they managed to make a music video out of it, they made it look so professional as if you were acctually at the gigg, also the lighting and technichians done a good job with all the effects.

I mostly likie this video because it represents arabs in an more livley way and the cars go and everything the effects are just sick!!

Ad's and analysis

This ad for j’adore by Dior has been everywhere lately from TV ads to print ads on magazines such as Vogue etc. The models name is Charlize Thereon and after her break with Dior she’s made it BIG. Charlize is in a low cut embroided corset .she is standing straight but looking down as if shes superior. The ad is located in a busy fashion show becuase the audience are intrested in fashion.  and in the trailer shes a very busy model in a hectic situation where she has to get their on time in order to make her appearance at the runway. The costume  is a embroided gold dress which she goes down the runway with.  The font is quite elegant with serifs which is how the women who buy this perfume may want to be, elegant. The story line shes a model theyre a runway shes late for, when she enters the changing rooms there are historic faces like Marylin Monroe and Audrey Hepburn becuase they are icons of glamour and beauty. This symbolises a more sex/feminine appeal.. she’s accessorizing herself with a gold earring symbolizing that it’s for the wealth so this gives a sort of snob appeal as only the wealthy can afford gold. In the background they’re seems to be a rather large chandelier indicating great wealth and luxury which is what diors products are all about, luxury. This ad is aimed at women of middle class aged between 20 and 50. They probably earn between 30,ooo – 50,000. The women that are between 20-50 sort of half way probably have families and live a high standard life, spend quality time with children but als find the time to go out to classy restaraunts. Charlize theron is shown as a very classy young women who lives a rather fast lane sort of lifestyle, shes always on the go.
The style of the perfume.
the perfume bottle is quite curvey and elegant just like the figure of a women, well any desirable figure, this also makes it look feminine, many designers such as jean paul gautier ad nina richie use curvious bottles.
The music from the ad is from heavy cross- the gossip. its quite a good song to use becuase its called the gosspi incidcating that dior jadore is new in town and is the latest gossip.
using abraham maslow's theory this is aimed at the aspirers, people diving in wealth and searching for status.
goffmans theory also approves this ad is using dismemberment;meaning
"on females, parts of the body such as legs, chest etc are used rather than the fully body, in this case charlize chest and legs.charlize is physically portrayed as a sexual sort of women by the way her face is angled in the print ad shes looking down as if she is supiror which is what every idependent women wants to be without having to take theyre close off., in goffmans thoery this is called, superiority, domination and body language.
